DEUTSCH DEBUT
Acclaimed actor Diane Kruger has lent her voice to the first-ever German-language “Bluey Book Reads,” marking a milestone for the digital sensation. The “Troy” and “Inglourious Basterds” star, who also headlines Fatih Akin’s Cannes-bowing “Amrum,” has narrated beloved “Bluey” storybooks “The Creek” and “Camping” in her native German.
“The Creek” launched May 27 on the German “Bluey” YouTube channel, with “Camping” following May 29. Both episodes will also stream on Bluey.TV.
“Tucking in for the night in our house never happens without a good Bluey book. I’m thrilled I got the opportunity to read these two stories. I definitely got mom points for this one,” Kruger said.
The German recordings are part of Series 2 of “Bluey Book Reads,” expanding internationally alongside French narrations by Camille Cottin and Korean readings by Han Ga-in. The initiative is produced by BBC Studios Digital Brands, BBC Studios Kids & Family and Ludo Studio.
LUXURY LIMITATIONS
Banijay Productions Germany is launching reality competition “Villa of Temptations,” set to debut July 7 on SAT.1 and streaming platform Joyn. Hosted by Verona Pooth, the format follows 14 celebrities in a deceptive paradise setting where luxury comes at a cost.
Contestants face basic conditions — no beds, showers or glamorous amenities — with every comfort or temptation deducted from a €250,000 ($283,000) prize pool. The twist: individual indulgences reduce winnings for the entire group, testing loyalty versus self-interest over two weeks.
“Reality shows continue to captivate audiences in Germany, and ‘Villa of Temptations’ is the perfect paradise setting to challenge the morality and motivations of some of the country’s best-known celebrities,” said Katrin Stefanović, co-managing director of Banijay Productions Germany.
The company, established in 2018, has produced hits including “Kampf der Realitystars” and “Temptation Island.”
