Derek Jeter is just trying to spread the holiday cheer.
The New York Yankees legend—who shares kids Bella Raine, 8, Story Grey, 6, River Rose, 4, and Kaius Green, 2, with wife Hannah Jeter—offered a rare glimpse into family life in celebration of the festive season.
As seen in a video shared on the athlete’s Instagram on Dec. 7, the MLB alum got shut down during a recent car ride while attempting to join one of his kids singing along to “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town.”
After receiving a resounding “no” for his incorrect lyrics, Derek’s sister offered her support.
“No Derek!!! ‘He’s making a list and checking it twice!'” Sharlee Jeter, 46, commented, before noting, “He is right. That wasn’t the next line!”
Derek—who captioned his Instagram post, “Happy Holidays!”—has occasionally shared insight into his and his wife’s parenting journey. In October, after bad weather postponed an MLB he was covering for Fox Sports, the baseball star-turned-sports analyst noted how he was forced to put his dad duties on hold.
