Conor McGregor 2023 Sexual Assault Lawsuit Dismissed

The former UFC star was accused of sexually assaulting a woman following a NBA Finals game

The lawsuit filed against Conor McGregor over allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman following a 2023 NBA Finals game has been dismissed, according to The Athletic.

The plaintiff filed for the dismissal in U.S. District Court, per the publication, and Senior Judge Joan A. Lenard of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice on Dec. 3, meaning the woman cannot refile the case in the future.

A representative for the plaintiff and McGregor did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The woman — described in the lawsuit as a 49-year-old executive — claimed McGregor assaulted her in the bathroom of the Kaseya Center on June 9, 2023, after Game 4 of the Miami Heat’s NBA Finals series against the Denver Nuggets. The lawsuit was filed in January 2025, and the plaintiff also sued the employees of the arena where the alleged attack took place, and accused staff and security of having “actual knowledge of the wrongfulness of the conduct” and failing to protect her.

Trending Stories

McGregor has denied the allegations and in a previous statement to Rolling Stone, the former UFC star’s attorney, Barbara Llanes referenced a 2023 criminal investigation into the claims and said “the State’s Attorney concluded that there was no case to pursue.” His lawyer added, “Almost two years and at least three lawyers later the plaintiff has a new false story. We are confident that this case too will be dismissed.”

This is not the only time McGregor has faced legal troubles outside of the ring. In November 2024, he was ordered to pay more than $250,000 after Nikita Hand, who alleged that the mixed martial artist brutally assaulted her in a hotel penthouse in 2018 in Dublin, won her civil case against him in Ireland. He later made a bid to appeal the ruling and was denied.
