Outta Gas. CleanTechnica Press.
“This book helps those fighting climate change to clearly understand the challenge we are facing, to focus our efforts on the most effective solutions, and to let go of the distractions, noise, and stress. Focused effort on what is truly working will make an enormous difference, as will a movement with people strong and resilient on the issue, and this book guides us to both. Cooney’s engaging style is captivating. I highly recommend this book.” —Professor Mark Z. Jacobson, Director of the Atmosphere and Energy Program at Stanford University and author of Still No Miracles Needed
“This book is medicine for the moment. Cooney provides a roadmap to the climate solutions we need, peppered with inspirational stories of the progress, often hidden in plain sight, that we are making along the way.” —David Hochschild, Chair, California Energy Commission
Tell us more
Folks, I don’t know about you, but I see great signs of climate progress everywhere. I, of course, see some not so great signs, too, but the progress that’s being made is the irreversible, train’s left the station kinda stuff, and a one-way street to a sustainable future. And it’s just awesome. I’ve always been an optimist, so my natural inclination is to focus more on this than on “other”, and it’s helped keep me working in the climate space for 30 years. This is not to say that I haven’t hit the wall a few times, mentally and emotionally, but, as an optimist, I’ve learned to see those walls as a great structure to lean against and rest for a bit, before proceeding on.
Psychology is clear that there are ways to stay in the game, to sleep better at night, and to be more effective in our work as a result. And it’s high time that more people working in the space recognize not only that, but also start to truly gain all the mental and emotional benefits of the pure fulfillment & joy that can come from a purposeful and intentional life of doing good.
It’s for this reason, mainly, that I wrote this book – Outta Gas. It’s about getting us offa gas, without running outta gas, a bit of a double entendre.
Because, for the first time ever, you can now get a copy of CleanTechnica Press’s first book, Outta Gas.
