BTS is back with a new album and new tour, and the global superstars are also giving fans a whole new way to experience their live performances in person.
BTS will release their comeback album, Arirang, on March 20, and the group is set to hit the road for their Arirang World Tour on April 9. Tickets to the tour sold out in minutes on Ticketmaster, but are still available online through select third-party sites. Fans who can’t make the shows can still see the group hit the stage thanks to two very special screenings that will bring the BTS world tour to cinemas worldwide.
Officially dubbed “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ Live Viewing,” the concert films will screen in theaters across more than 75 countries this April, giving fans an opportunity to experience the group’s vocals and choreography on the big screen. Theater screenings are scheduled for the April 11 BTS tour date in Goyang, South Korea, and the April 18 tour stop in Tokyo, Japan. Tickets to watch the BTS live tour screening are available now at Fandango.com.
Per a synopsis, the BTS theater screenings will give fans a chance to experience all the “electrifying moments of BTS’s defining cultural comeback together on the big screen worldwide. Featuring a spectacular 360-degree in-the-round stage design,” the description continues, “the show delivers an immersive experience that places audiences at the very center of the performance.”
Organizers have promised two “full-length concerts” with an estimated run time of approximately three hours, per a description online. While this has been dubbed a “livestream” or “live concert” screening, fans in the U.S. will likely be watching a taped version of the previous night’s concert. After all, the Goyang concert takes place at 7 p.m. Korean standard time, which is 5 a.m. EST; the Tokyo concert takes place at 7 p.m. Tokyo time, which is also 5 a.m. EST here in the U.S. As of now, the theaters in the U.S. are not scheduled to open that early for an actual live viewing.
Still, just like their tour dates, tickets to BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ Live Viewing are expected to sell out quickly as ARMY rush to celebrate the international superstars in theaters together. Reserve your tickets to the BTS ‘Arirang’ concert screening here. You can sort by date, cinema location, showtime and seats.
The two BTS movie theater experiences come on the heels of a live performance titled BTS the Comeback Live | Arirang, streaming on Netflix on March 21. BTS: The Return, a documentary directed by Bao Nguyen exploring the making of the band’s new LP, is set to debut on Netflix on March 27.
