Angela Bassett‘s current mission? Keeping in shape.

After the 9-1-1 star celebrated her 67th birthday, she revealed how she has continued to stay fit amid her busy schedule.

“It is important to keep moving,” Angela told TODAY.com in an interview published Aug. 20. “If you prioritize movement and health now, it will affect, I think, how we age and who we are as mature adults.”

Despite her ongoing commitment, she admitted that even for her, “it is a continued work in progress.”

The Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning actress—who shares 19-year-old twins Bronwyn Vance and Slater Vance with husband Courtney B. Vance—also knows that with age comes wisdom and a shift in strength.

“I’ve eased up a little bit because, you know, these knees, these ankles, this lower back, that sort of thing,” she explained. “I can’t kick it like I did when I was in my 20s and 30s, but it’s appropriate for who I am.”
