Welcome back to Nevermore.
It’s been nearly three years since Netflix released “Wednesday,” its comedy-mystery series following the eldest child of the Addams family through her adventures at the school where her parents met and fell in love. Season 1 rapidly became the streamer’s second-most popular title of all time (only “Squid Game” Season 1 ranks above it). That’s in large part due to the new characters and, of course, the new takes on old characters dreamed up by series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who executive produce the series alongside visionary director Tim Burton.
At Nevermore Academy, and in the town of Jericho surrounding it, everyone has a secret. Read on to get to know the psychics, sirens, werewolves and even normies with something to hide in Season 2.
Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega)
Image Credit: Netflix Jenna Ortega leads “Wednesday” as the iconic daughter of the Addams family, who has returned to Nevermore Academy for her second year after saving the school in Season 1. After spending summer break honing her psychic abilities, she has a vision about her roommate dying, and works throughout Season 2 to solve a new mystery and save her.
Pugsley Addams (Isaac Ordonez)
Image Credit: Netflix The youngest Addams child, Pugsley enters Nevermore as a first-year student in Season 2. Though Wednesday outwardly shows disdain for her little brother, she’s very protective of him — she was only sent to Nevermore in the first place after violently retaliating against his bullies at their old school. After brief appearances in Season 1, Isaac Ordonez reprises the role as a series regular this time around.
Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones)
Image Credit: Netflix Wednesday was already embarrassed by her mother, Morticia Addams, but that only gets exacerbated in Season 2 as the Addams family matriarch moves into a house on campus. Family tensions run high, especially with the addition of Morticia’s own mother, Hester Frump, to the mix.
Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán)
Image Credit: Jonathan Hession/Netflix Wednesday’s father, Gomez Addams, is a family man through and through. His every syllable is in praise of his wife and children — much to his daughter’s chagrin. In Season 2, with both Wednesday and Pugsley at Nevermore and Morticia accepting a new role on campus, Gomez gets to spend more time in the place he and his wife fell madly in love.
Enid (Emma Myers)
Image Credit: Jonathan Hession/Netflix Emma Myers’ Enid is Wednesday’s roommate at Nevermore — and her best friend, even if Wednesday wouldn’t use those words herself. Her rainbow-tinted optimism is a frequent foil to Wednesday’s goth, cynical demeanor. Despite their differences, the two are loyal companions. Enid is a werewolf and finally “wolfs out” for the first time at the end of Season 1. By Season 2, her new comfort within the werewolf community changes her life and her social status.
Principal Dort (Steve Buscemi)
Image Credit: Helen Sloan/Netflix Nevermore’s new headmaster, Principal Dort is loud, flamboyant and brings a penchant for “Outcast Pride” to the school, with no regard for normies. Known for a singular brand of zest and singularity, Steve Buscemi is a fitting choice to play the character and a logical addition to the Addams universe.
Thing (Victor Dorobantu)
Image Credit: COURTESY OF NETFLIX Romanian magician Victor Dorobantu will be back on screen in “Wednesday” Season 2 — or at least his disembodied hand will be. He plays Thing, a dutiful companion of the Addams family with unexplained origins. In the series, he lives with Wednesday at Nevermore and helps her spy on suspects and solve mysteries.
Bianca (Joy Sunday)
Image Credit: Jonathan Hession/Netflix Wednesday has no shortage of rivals, but in Season 1, Joy Sunday’s Bianca was one of her fiercest. A siren and the school’s queen bee, Bianca competes with Wednesday constantly throughout Season 1 before they eventually reconcile their differences as Bianca saves Wednesday’s life. They will grow even closer in Season 2, but each will be tested in their own ways.
Eugene (Moosa Mostafa)
Image Credit: Vlad Cioplea/Netflix Curious, sweet and unexpectedly brave, Eugene is one of the few Nevermore students who Wednesday might dare call a friend. With the ability to control bees, he becomes a very powerful defender in the climax of Season 1. In Season 2, he becomes roommates with Wednesday’s brother, Pugsley.
Tyler (Hunter Doohan)
Image Credit: JONATHAN HESSION/NETFLIX Tyler was left in dire straits at the end of Season 1. Revealed as the monster — a hyde, to be exact — and captured by authorities, he was last seen being transported to the Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility. Though he successfully charmed Wednesday in Season 1, it’s unlikely that he’ll fool her again. But he does hold unique insights into the secrets of the town of Jericho, which could come in handy while Wednesday solves her next mystery.
Ajax (Georgie Farmer)
Image Credit: Netflix Georgie Farmer’s Ajax is a Stoner at Nevermore, but not in the way you think. Beneath his beanie is a mop of snakes that will turn one to stone if looked at head-on — he’s a gorgon. He is a love interest of Enid’s, but their relationship enters precarious territory in Season 2 as they both figure out their supernatural abilities.
Bruno (Noah B. Taylor)
Image Credit: Helen Sloan/Netflix Bruno is the newest werewolf at Nevermore, whose good looks and charm throw some complications into Enid’s already tense romance with Ajax. He’s played by debut actor Noah B. Taylor.
Agnes (Evie Templeton)
Image Credit: Helen Sloan/Netflix After saving the school at the end of Season 1, Wednesday returns to Nevermore in Season 2 plagued by unwanted fame in Season 2. The leader of the fan club is Agnes, a new student whose idolization causes Wednesday immense annoyance.
Lurch (Joonas Suotamo)
Image Credit: Helen Sloan/Netflix The Addams family’s trusted and towering Frankenstein-esque butler, Lurch is a staple of the Addams iconography. Previously played by George Burcea, Season 2 sees Joonas Suotamo in the role. Standing at 6’11”, Suotamo is best known for playing Chewbacca in multiple “Star Wars” films.
Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen)
Image Credit: Netflix Fester Addams made a late but memorable entrance into Season 1 as Wednesday’s weird, twisted and conniving uncle. Fred Armisen reprises the role in Season 2, helping Wednesday solve her cases with his electric superpowers and off-kilter sense of humor.
Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley)
Image Credit: Owen Behan/Netflix Hester Frump is Morticia Addams’ mother and Wednesday’s grandmother. Though her character dates back to the original Addams Family comics, she will make her Netflix debut in “Wednesday” Season 2, played by Joanna Lumley. The rich businesswoman behind Frump Mortuaries, she is cold and ruthless, making her one of the rare family members that helps Wednesday feel understood.
Sheriff Galpin (Jamie McShane)
Image Credit: Vlad Cioplea/Netflix A straight-shooting cop who follows the evidence, Sheriff Galpin is a normie who butts heads with Wednesday, wishing the teenage girl would stay out of his way. Nevertheless, the two are both invested in keeping Jericho safe and cracking its paranormal cases, so they find themselves collaborating. But after his son was revealed to be a monster at the end of Season 1, he loses his job as well as the town’s trust. In Season 2, he plays a crucial role in guiding Wednesday towards the newest mystery she needs to solve.
Sheriff Santiago (Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo)
Image Credit: Vlad Cioplea/Netflix Played by Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Sheriff Santiago takes the reins from Sheriff Galpin as the town’s new first line of defense. Smart and driven, Santiago wants to do right by the community and, unlike her predecessor, is willing to work with Wednesday to solve Jericho’s most recent mysteries.
Miss Capri (Billie Piper)
Image Credit: BERNARD WALSH/NETFLIX Billie Piper joins “Wednesday” Season 2 as Miss Capri, Nevermore’s new music teacher, who attempts to nurture Wednesday’s musical abilities while also offering guidance to Enid as a fellow werewolf. A gifted musician from an early age herself, she brings some history to Nevermore, and perhaps a few secrets.
Professor Orloff (Christopher Lloyd)
Image Credit: ©Paramount/Courtesy Everett Collection Christopher Lloyd joins “Wednesday” Season 2 as Professor Orloff, the oldest and strictest teacher at Nevermore. The casting marks a return to the Addams Family universe for Lloyd, as he previously played Uncle Fester in the 1991 film “The Addams Family” and reprised the role in 1993’s “Addams Family Values.”
The Kansas City Scalper (Haley Joel Osment)
Image Credit: Netflix Haley Joel Osment guest stars in the first episode of “Wednesday” Season 2 as a serial killer called the Kansas City Scalper, who Wednesday has fixated on since she was a child. In a sneak peek released in May, he appears unkempt and unhinged, wielding a creepy doll that looks eerily similar to our titular heroine — who, predictably, hunts him down.
