Alexandria shooting: Gunfire erupts near shopping center in Hybla Valley, man left in life-threatening condition

A shooting near a shopping center in the Hybla Valley area of Alexandria left a man seriously wounded on Wednesday, June 18, Fairfax County police said. The victim was found in the 7900 block of Richmond Highway and rushed to the hospital in life-threatening condition, WJLA reported.

Police confirmed that the incident is being investigated.

Fairfax County Police shared details about the shooting on X, saying, “Officers are on scene of a shooting in the 7900 block of Richmond Hwy in Hybla Valley. The victim, an adult male, was transported to an area hospital in life-threatening condition.”

“Detectives are on scene investigating. Please call 911 with any information,” they added. “Detectives continue to investigate. The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and red shoes. Call 911 with information.”
