BMW gave its flagship electric sedan an overhaul for the 2027 model year. The new BMW i7 offers nearly 450 miles of range, advanced new tech, and an updated Neue Klasse design.
The new 2027 BMW i7 delivers more range and luxury
The i7 sits atop the luxury brand’s EV lineup as the all-electric version of the flagship 7 Series sedan. For the 2027 model year, BMW introduced a slew of new updates.
BMW said the new 7 Series sedan “takes the lead when it comes to the introduction of technologies from the Neue Klasse into existing models.”
While it still features BMW’s massive kidney grille, the design is updated with a slightly slimmer “Kidney Iconic Glow” that includes standard illuminated LED light strips. BMW also added new minimalist crystal headlights, replacing the stacked headlight design on the outgoing i7.
The updates are even more evident on the interior. Inside, the new i7 features BMW’s new Panoramic iDrive display that spans the entire dashboard, plus an all-new 14.6″ BMW Passenger Screen.
Powered by BMW Operating System X, the vehicle includes an in-car intelligent personal assistant that uses Amazon Alexa+ AI tech.
An upgraded 31.3″ 8K BMW Theatre Screen that extends from the roof allows rear seat passengers to watch movies or work on the go. The system also includes new ambient lighting and an available 36-speaker premium Bowers & Wilkins sound system with Dolby Atmos.

Other interior upgrades introduced with the 2027 model include a redesigned steering wheel, updated automatic doors, and a digital interior mirror.
For flagship-level comfort on long trips, the new electric sedan features ergonomically designed seats and standard adaptive 2-axle air suspension.
Using BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive with cylindrical cells, the new 2027 i7 now achieves a WLTP driving range of over 447 miles (720 km). BMW said the new 113 kWh battery pack features a 20% improvement in energy density compared to the fifth-generation eDrive.
BMW’s new battery tech enables faster charging speeds, with the new i7 able to recharge from 10% to 80% in 28 minutes.
The new BMW i7 will be available in two versions: 50 xDrive and 60 xDrive. The flagship i7 60 xDrive is expected to offer an EPA-estimated range of about 350 miles.
The 2027 BMW i7 will go on sale later this year. Prices for the base i750 xDrive start at $107,750, while the i760 xDrive model is priced from $126,250.
