Army Opens Inquiry After Kid Rock’s Personal Apache Helicopter Flyby

The Army has opened an inquiry into two videos shared by Kid Rock that show a pair of Apache helicopters flying by his Nashville residence over the weekend, Pentagon officials told the New York Times.

A rep for Rock did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.

Rock posted the videos to X on Saturday afternoon. The first video shows the musician clapping and saluting one of the attack choppers, which hovers just off the perimeter of his “Southern White House” before flying away. The second video shows the Apache turning to face Rock as a second chopper zooms by in the background.

Along with the two videos, Rock wrote in his post, “This is a level of respect that shit for brains Governor of California [Gavin Newsom] will never know. God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”

Maj. Jonathon Bless, a representative for the 101st Airborne Division, which is located just north of Rock’s mansion in Fort Campbell, Ky., told the NYT that the Army’s administrative review would “assess the mission and verify compliance with regulations and airspace requirements.” He reportedly stressed that the inquiry is not an official investigation.

The NYT also reports that the Apaches that visited Rock appeared to be the same that flew over a Nashville “No Kings” protest on Saturday. Major Bless told the outlet that the military vehicles were in the area for training, and their flyover at the “No Kings” event was “entirely coincidental.”

Rock, an outspoken conservative and Donald Trump supporter, recently headlined the “All-American Halftime Show,” a MAGA-friendly alternative to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX performance.
