Hilary Duff on Education as Lizzie McGuire Child Actor

Hilary Duff knows she’s mature in ways that didn’t come from schooling. 

In fact, while the Lizzie McGuire alum admitted that she got essentially “zero education” as a child star, it’s not something she’s super bothered about.

“I know a lot about a lot of things,” Hilary shared on the Table Manners Podcast March 2, noting her family did make one request. “My mom was like, ‘Can you just go get your GED?’”

And while she did receive the certification—which is the equivalent of a high school diploma—the 38-year-old added, “I’m happy and I feel like I educated myself on my own of different things I was interested in.”

As to the idea of returning to school now? It’s not something Hilary is thinking about. 

“I’m past the window of caring that my education wasn’t great because I feel like I got strengths in other areas, and it kind of helps,” she said. “And I’m not shy to ask a question about something.”
