Nate Bargatze Is No. 1 on January 2026 Comedy Boxscore Recap

Billboard published the January Boxscore report on Monday (March 2), with Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga and Eagles kicking off 2026 on top. But while the biggest stars of rock, hip-hop and more packed stadiums, comedians were road warrior-ing their way to sold-out theaters and arenas. Here, we’re looking at the five biggest comedy tours of January 2026.

Last year, Billboard launched its comedy hub with rundowns of the biggest touring comedians of the midyear Boxscore period (Oct. 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025) and of the months that followed. Sebastian Maniscalco, John Mulaney and Weird Al Yankovic topped those lists, but another former chart-topper has returned to the summit with a vengeance.

Nate Bargatze led for four consecutive months, creating a blockade atop the comedy recap from August through November. After sliding to the runner-up spot in December (when Mulaney took over at No. 1), he’s back on top for the first ranking of 2026. According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, his seven shows in January collectively grossed $5.1 million and sold 64,100 tickets.

Moving from the Pacific Northwest to the Midwest, Bargatze’s biggest stop of the month was at St. Louis’ Enterprise Center. On Jan. 22-23, he grossed a combined $1.9 million from 24,800 tickets, with each night’s individual take still topping his shows in Eugene, Ore.; Yakima, Wash.; Missoula, Mont.; Billings, Mont.; and Toledo, Ohio.
