XPENG’s slow start to 2026 continued in February. I expect much is in the works in terms of product launches and model refreshes in coming months, but this is certainly not the start to the year the company would want to see.
The company achieved 15,256 deliveries in February 2026, almost exactly 50% below the 30,453 deliveries of February 2025.
Note: The sales chart is being displayed in two different ways — as a static image and as an embedded, interactive chart — since some formats show better on some devices and others show better on other devices.
On the matter of model updates, the first is already out the door — deliveries of the new XPENG P7+ just began. The first shipment is bringing the model to 18 countries. On the one hand, that’s an impressive reach already and a good sign, especially since the brand’s presence in many of these markets is just getting built up. On the other hand, though, one would hope there’d be enough demand built up for the model in one or two markets to consume the first batch (but that’s apparently quite unrealistic). Nonetheless, the company is optimistic. “This milestone marks a significant step in bringing the vehicle’s intelligent, spacious driving experience to young families worldwide,” XPENG writes.
Of course, XPENG has been putting a lot of attention on AI and robotics lately. A bit like another previously EV-only company…. And tomorrow is a big day in that regard. “XPENG will also host a media experience event on March 2, 2026 in Guangzhou, where it will unveil its 2nd Gen VLA ahead of its official rollout in later March,” XPENG shares.
XPENG’s VLA (Vision-Language-Action) 2.0 is an end-to-end AI foundation model for physical artificial intelligence, and it is supposed to go into mass production deployment this quarter. We’ll see what the announcement brings tomorrow.
Perhaps March will bring back a surge in growth for XPENG. It certainly doesn’t want to get further behind in its year-to-date sales.
