XPENG’s Mona M03 has been critical to the company’s EV sales growth and march toward profitability this year. Across the first 11 months of the year, 163,299 units of the Mona M03 were delivered. That’s about 42% of the company’s 391,937 total deliveries.
Now, the M03 is getting a refresh (already, just about a year and a half after it was launched).
The updated M03 is just 5 mm longer than the current version, according to a recent government filing, while other exterior dimensions are the same.
It’s not clear what will be changed as far as the interior goes, but it will surely get some updates and upgrades.
What is clear is the model will get a bit more range. Instead of a top rated range of 620 km (385 miles), it will have a top rated range of 640 km (398 miles). Not the biggest deal, but it just shows how battery technology (and/or aerodynamics) continues to improve.
XPENG already offers amazingly affordable cars for the tech and specs you get, but the Mona brand is even more affordability oriented. The M03 is its only model so far, but the still attractive, high-tech car comes at a price of just RMB 119,800 ($17,045). That’s ridiculous.
It’s no surprise the Mona M03 sells so well, and one would think that will continue in 2026 if the model is getting improved and refreshed already. Also, it appears more options will be coming. The current model comes with two different battery options, across four variants. You can either get it with a 51.8-kWh battery or a 62.2-kWh battery. However, the new government filing lists three battery sizes — 51.8-kWh, 61.6-kWh, and 62.2-kWh. So, one would think more options are coming.
Will the Mona M03 score even more sales in 2026? I guess there’s a good chance of that!
