CorpGov and IPO Edge are pleased to provide complete video coverage of the fifth annual Palm Beach CorpGov Forum held on Nov. 5-6, featuring keynote speaker Josh Frank, Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Wall Street legend Nelson Peltz’s Trian Fund Management.
Mr. Frank discussed Trian’s position for the last six years at Unilever PLC (NYSE: UL), addressing the challenges that prevented the company to capitalize to its full potential due in part to corporate governance differences across its British and Dutch locations, and how the company unified its governance in the UK.
Mr. Frank also mentioned the case of Snapple’s transformation under the leadership of Nelson Peltz and how the company was purchased by Cadbury Schweppes, becoming a featured case study at Harvard Business School. Snapple now is part of Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. (Nasdaq: KDP), while Cadbury Schweppes was acquired by Mondelez International, Inc. (Nasdaq: MDLZ).
Mr. Frank also discussed current activist campaigns at Paramount Skydance Corp. (Nasdaq: PSKY) and Kimberly-Clark Corp. (Nasdaq: KMB), and Trian’s previous approach to its investments on The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) and The Procter & Gamble Co. (NYSE: PG) as consumer companies with a diverse portfolio, the later developing from a connection with Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ).
