Melissa McCarthy, Josh O’Connor, Dijon and Lily Allen have also been revealed as hosts and musical guests for December
Saturday Night Live has revealed a stacked line-up for December, including a holiday season diva-off between Ariana Grande and Cher for the last episode of 2025.
The Dec. 6 show will be hosted by Melissa McCarthy, who will be hosting for the sixth time. While McCarthy hasn’t hosted since 2017, she did make several cameos in the interim, including a run as former Trump press secretary Sean Spicer and an appearance welcoming Martin Short into the “Five-Timers Club” last December. Dijon will make his debut as musical guest, having released his celebrated second LP Baby in August and recently scoring his first Grammy nominations.
On Dec. 13, Josh O’Connor will host SNL for the first time, just a few weeks following the release of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. Lily Allen will return as musical guest for the first time since 2007. She just released her new album, West End Girl, which marks her first since 2018’s No Shame.
Grande and Cher will co-headline the Dec. 20 episode, the annual holiday season, end-of-year blowout for Saturday Night Live. Grande, who will still be promoting Wicked: For Good, last hosted in October 2024 with a different legend as musical guest: Stevie Nicks. Her last appearance as musical guest was in February 2024, when she joined host Josh Brolin.
Cher has only appeared on SNL as a musical guest once before, back in 1987 (Candice Bergen was host). She did make a cameo on a 1992 episode, and more recently performed during the SNL50 concert special.
