Deutsche Lufthansa AG may eliminate about 100 domestic flights a week next summer as high aviation taxes and fees in Germany weigh on profitability, Chief Executive Officer Carsten Spohr told Welt am Sonntag.
“Without a reduction in location costs, further cuts will be unavoidable,” Spohr was cited as saying in an interview with the German newspaper. “This involves around 100 domestic flights per week, which could be eliminated again next summer.”
