iPhone 16 price drops again on Flipkart: Buy now or wait for iPhone 17 in September?

But the question is: should you buy the iPhone 16 now, just as the iPhone 17 series is about to launch? Let’s find out.

iPhone 16 deal explained on Flipkart

The iPhone 16 base model with 128GB storage is currently listed at ₹69,999, which is around a ₹10,000 drop from its original price of ₹79,900. You can sweeten the deal further if you have a Flipkart Axis Bank credit card, which will get you ₹3,507 cashback after your billing cycle.

This brings the net effective price down to around ₹67,500, which is a decent price for the iPhone 16. Of course, it has been on sale for lower prices before. If you want a phone right now, this could be a good deal.

Should you buy the iPhone 16 now or wait for the iPhone 17 next month?

Reports so far suggest that the iPhone 17 may not be a major overhaul compared to the iPhone 16. However, it could bring some meaningful upgrades, especially in terms of the display. Right off the bat, the design of the iPhone 17 isn’t expected to change compared to the iPhone 16. It is expected to retain the same camera module, the Dynamic Island, and the aluminium-and-glass build.

However, the iPhone 17 could feature a slightly bigger display, coming in at 6.3 inches, similar to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro. Another potential change is a higher refresh rate display, as Apple could finally bring 120Hz to the base model iPhone. However, this may not be an LTPO panel.

In terms of specs, the iPhone 17 could feature the 3nm-based A19 chipset, compared to the A18 in the iPhone 16. This is expected to bring some upgrades, but it may not be a complete overhaul. So, if you value a 120Hz display and want a slightly bigger screen and better specs, the iPhone 17 could be worth waiting for.

At large, the iPhone 16 continues to be an excellent choice for most people. However, some drawbacks, such as the absence of a telephoto lens and the 60Hz display, still remain.
