Sophie Rain, the 20-year-old who claims to have made a fortune on OnlyFans, left MrBeast speechless after she called into his TeamWater charity livestream Thursday night and pledged $1 million to the cause.
MrBeast, the biggest YouTuber on the platform, reteamed with creator Mark Rober for #TeamWater, which has enlisted more than 3,000 influencers to promote the initiative to raise $40 million in the month of August to provide clean water to millions of people around the world.
Rain phoned into MrBeast’s livestream, co-hosted with Adin Ross and xQc, and told the TeamWater crew she had been looking for the right opportunity to contribute. “I’ve been wanting to donate,” Rain said. “I’m just not sure how to, so I’m glad you called me because I want to donate $1 million, is what I want to donate.”
MrBeast’s jaw dropped when she announced her $1 million pledge: “You sure?!” he asked her. Rain said, “I am 100% sure. This is an awesome cause. I appreciate everything you do and you’re just an amazing person, and I just want to support this because it’s awesome.”
MrBeast (real name: Jimmy Donaldson) responded, “Whoa, thank you! That was not what I was expecting.” His livestream on Kick set a goal of raising $12 million for TeamWater; as of Friday morning, it had more than $10 million in pledges. Overall, TeamWater has tallied $29.3 million in contributions as of Aug. 15.
In a post on X, Sophie Rain wrote about the donation, “call it dirty money, but i still donated $1m more than you did 🤷♀️ thank you for the opportunity #TeamWater.”
Last month, Sophie Rain shared a screenshot on social media of her OnlyFans earnings, claiming she has earned $80.1 million to date from the platform since joining in July 2023. Rain says she has bought a private jet, seven cars and a $2.7 million farmhouse on 20 acres of land from her OnlyFans proceeds.
Rain’s $1 million contribution currently places her in the top 20 on the TeamWater leaderboard. Other individuals and companies that have donated include Citadel CEO Ken Griffin ($2.25 million), Kick.com ($2 million) and Shopify CEO Tobias Lütke ($1.5 million) while YouTube and Google have contributed $2 million in matching funds.
In a statement provided by her reps, Sophie Rain said about the TeamWater donation: “Access to clean water is something many of us take for granted, but for millions of people, it’s a daily struggle. This donation is my way of using my platform for something that matters. I wanted to do something that would have a real and immediate impact.” She added: “Not everyone can give a million dollars — and that’s okay. Even a small contribution can help change someone’s life. If my donation motivates others to take action, then it’s worth every penny.”
Rain, who is based in Miami, has more than 500,000 subscribers on OnlyFans and over 20 million followers across social media platforms. According to her reps, Rain “is a vocal advocate for sex worker rights and the responsible evolution of digital spaces for women.”
In the past, Rain has claimed she doesn’t post nude pics on OnlyFans. However, her current bio on the platform says, “I may be a virgin, but I’m not that innocent as you might think… FULLY NUDE CONTENT AVAILABLE!!!” The current promo on her page says, “#1 on ONLYFANS for a reason 😏 come see why and if you join RIGHT NOW dm me to see my first ever masturbation video 😅 (don’t tell my mom pls).” The regular price for a subscription to her OnlyFans page is $10 per month.
