Ateez brought their high-energy “In Your Fantasy” world tour to L.A. last weekend at BMO Stadium — a much different show, absent big stage sets and special effects, with more of an emphasis on their singing and choreography, plus solo performances. A band onstage added to the stripped-down feel as the members of Ateez interacted a lot with the enthusiastic crowd — and Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho had fun bantering with each other. Hit singles “In Your Fantasy” and “Lemon Drop” were among other highlights in the almost three-hour, well-paced show that were met with roars of approval by Atiny (the Ateez fandom).
Hongjoon, Seonghwa, Yunho and San talk about their new music and tour:
What were the influences behind your new music?
HONGJOONG: A lot of different influences shaped this new music. From our personal experiences and emotions to the energy we felt from fans on tour or from fan stories and the inspiration we gained from new places we visited, it all played a part. Musically, we also challenged ourselves to break out of our usual boundaries and find a balance between different moods and sounds. I think the result is something that still feels true to Ateez, while also bringing a fresh emotional perspective.

Can you talk about the sound of “In Your Fantasy” and what were the influences behind the music video?
SEONGHWA: “In Your Fantasy” explores a different sonic direction for Ateez. Instead of our usual explosive beats, we focused on a more groovy and sensual rhythm, to create a seductive and captivating mood. The sound is smooth yet intense, letting the emotion drive the energy. As for the music video, it expands on that mood visually, with an elegant concept and darkish cinematography. We wanted it to feel like crossing the line between fantasy and reality, where the visuals and music pull you into a mysterious and fantasy-like world.
What were some of the best parts of your world tour?
YUNHO: Every part of our world tours is special, but the most memorable moments were always when we got to connect directly with the fans; singing together, exchanging energy and locking eyes from the stage. Each city had its own vibe, and that made every show feel like a brand-new experience. The surprise fan events or fun encores especially left a strong impression and reminded us how deeply we’re loved and supported across the world.
What do you want to say to your Los Angeles fans?
SAN: Our fans in Los Angeles always give us such special energy. Your passion, your cheers, and the way you enjoy our performances, it really gives us strength. I’m so happy we get to perform for you again, and I want to hold on to those moments for a long time.
We’ll continue to give back with great stages and music. We love you!
