Copper Futures in London Drop After Trump Plans 50% Import Tariff

Benchmark copper futures fell in London after US President Donald Trump said he planned to implement a 50% tariff on imports, a move that’s likely to spark further upheaval in global metal markets.

Three-month futures fell as much as 2.4% to $9,553.50 a ton on the London Metal Exchange at the start of trade on Wednesday, and were at $9,592 at 8:11 a.m. in Singapore.
